Course Overview

Master the legal, commercial, and operational fundamentals behind drafting effective GSAs and PPAs for gas and power markets.

Course Overview

Drafting robust Gas Supply Agreements (GSAs) and Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) is central to successful gas commercialisation and electricity-sector investment. These long-term contracts define pricing structures, supply security, risk allocation, performance obligations, and remedies—making them critical instruments in both regulated and liberalised energy markets.

This course provides a practical, clause-by-clause understanding of GSAs and PPAs, exploring negotiation dynamics, commercial motivations, and best practices used by leading gas suppliers, utilities, buyers, and project developers. Participants gain insights into contract structuring, pricing mechanisms, volume flexibility, credit requirements, delivery obligations, and dispute-resolution approaches aligned with international industry standards.

Through real-world examples from upstream gas projects, LNG supply, pipeline operations, and independent power production, the programme equips professionals to draft balanced, bankable, and enforceable agreements that support long-term energy security and investment stability.
